In How to Operate Concrete Batching Plants Safely (Chapter One) and How to Operate Concrete Batching Plants Safely (Chapter Two) we discussed in detail notices for safe operation. The measures mentioned, however, can only deal with situations for normal operation. As a matter of fact, many unexpected cases would rise in practice. Slow powder conveying turns out to be one of them.
With most concrete bathing plants a normal conveying process of cement or coal ash can be finished within 20 seconds, but when something goes wrong, the process can last 2 minutes or even longer. The reasons might fall on two aspects: problems in powder tank or damage in screw conveyor. The former might be caused by powder overload, powder agglomeration, insufficient opening of discharging valve or insufficient powder in the tank. The latter mostly results from deformed screw blades which can not move normally. Therefore, what we need do is only to check which problem it is. First, start air-blowing arch destroying system. Second, make sure the discharging valve is fully opened. Third, check whether there are blockages at the discharging mouth. Fourth, deformed screw blades should be corrected or changed in time.
